Atelier Viollet is inseparable from the designers and architects we work with.
- A designer or architect walks in with a rough sketch or design.
- We discuss the dimensions of the piece, and its aesthetics.
- Next, we might go through our “Veneer Room,” with more than 100 samples of rare woods. Their infinite patterns preserved, intact and alive.
- Together, we decide on the type of finish, be it a traditional French polish or modern polyurethane, and whether the surface should receive a low sheen or high gloss.
- After acceptance of a written proposal, Atelier Viollet then produces a full set of shop drawings outlining the final design and finish samples for approval.
Then the real work (and joy) on the piece begins.
